Bette Show, The

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1999 to 2000

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired weekly from March 1, 1999 to March 31, 2000

This half-hour comedy series was named after Bette MacDonald, actress and comedienne, who played multiple roles on every show. Her co-stars were Ed Macdonald and Tim Steeves. MacDonald started as a stand up comedienne in Atlantic Canada and this show was modeled after her stage performances. In 2002, she starred in another short-lived comedy series for CBC called Rideau Hall, where she played a rather quirky Governor General.
