Canadian actor/writer/producer Allan Blye and his US partner Bob Einstein developed this zany comedy series for an adult audience on the U.S. Showtime network, and produced a laundered version for CTV. Comedian John Byner was the host, and a strong team of Canadian comedy veterans helped deliver a succession of irreverent and sometimes highly politically incorrect skits. In the supporting cast were Steve Weston, Jayne Eastwood, Jack Duffy, Lally Cadeau, Saul Rubinek, Billy Van, Tom Harvey and Mike Walden. Bob Einstein’s Super Dave Osborne act was a regular feature, and later became the basis for the Global Super Dave Show series.

Strong scripts and a highly energy level from the cast earned the series a multi-year run. The half-hour premiered on CTV in September 1980 on Mondays at 8:30pm, and ran for five years, ending its run in September 1985. It was produced for CTV in the studios of CFTO-TV Toronto.

The series later received ongoing exposure on many cable specialty channels.
