Celebrity Dominoes

Network: CTV Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1975 to 1976

Broadcast Medium: Television

It may have been the perceived attraction of the word Celebrity in the title that prompted CTV to give this series a prime time slot in addition to playing it as a daytime strip, but neither the quality of the celebrity names nor the game itself – which involved scrambled words, and used the celebrities in a format reminiscent of Hollywood Squares – could save Celebrity Dominoes from a early demise. Julie Amato was one of the local celebrities to appear on the panel, and the host was Paul Hanover.

The half-hour series was produced at CFCF-TV Montreal, and played in daytime stripping Monday through Friday at 2:00pm for the full 1975-76 season. It was also scheduled in prime time on Fridays at 7:30pm at the start of the season, but ratings were so dismal that it was lifted by March of 1976. It was not renewed for any time period for the following year.
