Aired as a summer series from 1964 to 1967.

The CBC created this program to feature short films from aroung the world. The movies covered a wide range of technique and story line including documentaries and animation. The program debuted with Francois Truffaut’s first movie, Les Mistons, and included films by Richard Lester, who directed A Hard Day’s Night, Ludovic Kennedy, Ernest Pintoff, Vladimir Lehky and Jack Kuper. Many of these pictures were rarely seen by wider audiences and restricted only to film societies, hence the title of the show.
