In March 2010 it was announced that the CBC had committed to a new half hour situation comedy series to be titled InSecurity.  InSecurity made its debut on the Network on January 4th, 2011.

InSecurity, shot in Regina by the same crew as Corner Gas and some of the same creative team, would follow a fictional national security agency whose agents bore closer resemblance to Get Smart’s Agent 86 than 24’s Jack Bauer

InSecurity starred Natalie Lisinska as Alex Cranston , William DeVry as Peter McNeil and Gemini Award Winner Rémy Girard as Claude Lesage.

Rounding out the cast were Matthew MacFadzean as Burt Wilson, Grace Lynn Kung as Jojo Kwan and Richard Yearwood as Benjamin N’udu.

INSECURITY wass created and executive produced by Kevin White (Company Name Here Productions) and Robert de Lint and Virginia Thompson (Vérité Films), veterans of popular television hit Corner Gas.

On February 13th CBC announced the renewal of InSecurity for the 2011-2012 season, and on June 8th the newly published CBC Fall Schedule showed InSecurity returning on Mondays at 8:30 pm effective September 26th.

On April 19th 2012, the CBC announced that, because of cuts to their funding that had been announced in the recent Federal Budget, InSecurity had been cancelled, and would not be part of the CBC’s 2012-13 season schedule.
