Les Moineau st les Pinson

Network: TVA Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1982 to 1985

Broadcast Medium: Television

In the comedy Les Moineau et les Pinson, Georges Dor portrayed the daily lives of two Montreal families, one from a comfortable milieu, and the other from a more modest background. The TV soap opera was based on the play Les Moineau chez les Pinson by Dor.

The Moineau family was unpretentious. Marcel-Marie (Fernand Gignac), an honest taxi driver, lived with Marie-Madeleine (Rita Lafontaine) and their family counted nine children. The Pinsons were a well-off family, who had been lawyers from one generation to the next. The basic story line focused upon what happened when Pierre-Paul Pinson met Caroline Moineau and the two of them decided to get married. This gave rise to a certain rivalry between the two families.

From 1982 to 1985, Télé-Métropole aired 108 episodes of Les Moineau et les Pinson. This TV soap opera, directed by Jean Bernatchez, Claude Colbert and Jacques Drolet,  starred Fernand Gignac, Rita Lafontaine, Gabriel Gascon and Gisèle Dufour.
