Broadcast Run: 1993 to 1994

Broadcast Medium: Television

In the 1986-87 season, Nick Mancuso starred on NBC in a short-lived Stephen J. Cannell series, Stingray. It was cancelled after one year, but subsequently achieved cult status. Mancuso’s second television series, Matrix, emulated Stingray by only lasting one season, but did not achieve similar cult status.

In this one-hour series, Mancuso played Steven Matrix, a Mafia hitman who met his just end but was sent back to earth to atone by doing good rather than evil. Heavenly messengers pointed him to wrongs which needed righting, but heavenly intervention was nowhere to be found when renewal time for the series came around.

Phillip Jarrett and Carrie-Anne Moss co-starred in Matrix, which was produced for CTV by Sunrise Films, and also ran for thirteen episodes on the USA Network. It was scheduled on Saturdays at 10:00pm from October 1993 through to the end of the 1993-94 season.
