Maurice Pearson Sings

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1963

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired Saturday evenings at 6:30pm during the summer of 1963

This 15 minute music program featured Maurice Pearson whose claim to fame was a 5-year regular appearance on the Lawrence Welk show on ABC. In 1961, he returned to Canada and settled in Vancouver. While there, he started a radio show on CBC which led to a television broadcast. Many of CBC’s radio shows were adapted to television as a cheap but effective way to fill the schedule. The band was led by Dave Robbins. The show was produced Ayn Sooder who later supervised segments for Music Hop and Let’s Go.
