With the rise in popularity of American soap operas, aka daytime dramas, the CBC produced one of its own in the mid-1960s. This was a daily serial drama, produced by John Trent, and was sold to NBC television in the United States.
The show revolved around the trials and tribulations of the Wallace family, who lived in a college town. The lead character, Dr. Robert Wallace, was a clinical psychologist who taught at the local university in addition to having his own private practice. At one point the show boasted 60 different characters in a typical week.
