Music To Remember

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1974

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired Sunday evenings from April 19 to May 24, 1970.

This half hour music show continued a tradition set by Eric Wild and his orchestra in the 1960s. It was a program of light classics and new arrangements from Lucio Agostini and his orchestra. Agostini, was born in Italy from a musical family. His father was a musician and Lucio’s first teacher.

Agostini wrote and conducted for CBC radio during the war and was the long time music director at CBC television with such programs as Juliette and Front Page Challenge on his roster. He had the unique ability to write scores quickly for radio and TV.

Guests on this show included Shirley Harmer, Wally Koster and violinist Marta Hidy. Neil Andrews produced the program in Toronto.
