One Northern Summer

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1971 to 1972

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired Wednesday afternoons from December 1971 to June 1972. Repeated at various times during the summer from 1972 to 1977.

This was a short series of 13 half-hour documentaries about the Arctic. It was photographed by Curt Clausen and produced by Denis Hargrave.
The network saw fit to repeat the series on a number of occasions, because it was affordable and good quality. The first show, for instance, examined the life of seals in the Bering Sea. Subsequent programs explored animal and human life in the region, with visits to Alaska, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and what is now Nunavut.

The series was produced by Denis Hargrave.
