Giguère, Réal (1933- )
In five decades, Real Giguère’s career took him from stage to screen to novel and script writing – to hosting radio shows to being one of the most well-loved and widely recognized broadcasting personalities for generations of Quebecers.
A prolific writer, the long-time host of a number of talk shows and variety programs for TVA – notably CFTM-TV – Réal penned five television series, including L’or du temps – which ran for eight years and addressed often controversial social issues and taboo subjects. He also wrote the novel Les Marcheurs de la nuit, which was brought to the big screen under the title Cain for which ho wrote the screenplay and in which he acted.
Réal Giguère – a true renaissance man in every sense of the word and a private broadcaster dedicated to his craft and his audiences was inducted in 2001 to the CAB Broadcast Hall of Fame.
