This animated children’s program was a co-production of Evergreen Raccoons Productions in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and with the participation of Telefilm Canada. It was a very successful series of movies [The Christmas Raccoons; Raccoons on Ice] before becoming a regular television series in 1985. A strong environmental sub-text supported the adventures of Bert and his friends in the Evergreen Forest, but the stories were entertaining, and great for audiences of all ages.
Voice characterizations by Michael Magee, Len Carlson, Marvin Goldhar, Carl Banas, Bob Dermer, Linda Feige, Susan Roman, Sharon Lewis, Nick Nicols, Keith Hampshire and Geoffrey Winter. The series was created by Kevin Gillis, who hosted Yes You Can for CBC television.
