2005

On February 3, Edward Tardif (52%) and Remi Tardif (48%) received approval to operate a new FM station at Whitecourt. The proposed station would operate at 105.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 42,300 watts. Antenna height would be 377 metres from Wes Tower Leasing’s Whitecourt Communications tower. The Tardif’s proposed to offer a Rock music format. All of the programming would be local.

2006

On May 11, the sale of the as yet to sign-on CIXM-FM by Edward and Remi Tardif to Melfort, Saskatchewan-based Radio CJVR Ltd. (owned and controlled by the trustees of the Fabro Family Trust) was approved.

September 18, at 1:05 p.m., CIXM-FM “XM 105” signed on the air with a hot country format. 

2011

On August 31, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CIXM-FM until March 31, 2012.

2012

On March 20, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CIXM-FM to August 31, 2012. On August 28, the licence was administratively renewed to December 31, 2012. On December 21, the CRTC renewed CIXM-FM’s licence to August 31, 2019.

2019

On August 15, the CRTC approved an application by Fabmar Communications, on behalf of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group, for corporate reorganization. The reorganization would see Fabmar amalgamated into JPBG, including CIXM-FM Whitecourt, CHWK-FM Chilliwack, CJVR-FM Melfort and its transmitters CJVR-FM-1 Dafoe, CJVR-FM-2 Wakesiu Lake, CJVR-FM-3 Carrot River, and CKJH Melfort.
