2006

On March 14, the CRTC approved the application by McBride Communications & Media Inc. for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language commercial FM radio programming undertaking in Ucluelet. The station would be dedicated to local content and feature a range of programming including news, surveillance and community events. Its music format would consist of a variety of contemporary and established selections, drawing from pop, rock and country music. In each broadcast week, the station would broadcast at least three hours of programming in Aboriginal languages. In addition, the applicant would allocate three hours per week for use by local First Nations groups. The applicant stated that it would adhere to this six-hour commitment as a condition of licence. The station would operate at 99.5 MHz (channel 258A1) with an effective radiated power
of 180 watts. It would operate in a single-station market as defined in Local programming policy for FM radio – definition of a single-station market, Public Notice CRTC 1993-121, 17 August 1993. The licence would expire 31 August 2012.

On August 31, the CRTC approved application by CIMM-FM Radio Ltd. for authority to acquire, as part of an intra-corporate reorganization, the assets of the station.

After a two-week test period, ”The Edge” CIMM-FM Ucluelet officially launched at 7 a.m. Friday, September 1 with a Hot Adult Contemporary format.  The first song was by a local group, Spontaneous Combustion performing “Made In Ucluelet”.  Local personality Lance Blackwell was announced as the morning host.

2012

On August 17, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence of CIMM-FM to August 31, 2013.

2016

In August, CIMM changed its branding from Classic Rock-Surf Music (Long Beach Radio, a simulcast of CHMZ Tofino) to Hot AC-Variety (Ukee Radio, now local programming).
