2003

On November 14, Charles McPherson on behalf of a company to be incorporated (would be known as Couchiching Community Radio) was awarded a licence for an English and Aboriginal language Native Type B FM station int Fort Frances and Couchiching First Nation territory. The new station would operate on a frequency of 92.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50 watts.

The station would broadcast an average of 126 hours of programming a week, with about 5% of that time devoted to Aboriginal language programming. As the station becomes more established, the applicant proposes to increase native content programming to better reflect the needs of the native community. It would offer a classic rock music format along with Aboriginal musical talent.
