2008

On August 4, My Broadcasting Corp. received approval for a new FM station at Exeter. MBC was the licensee of CKYM-FM Napanee, CJMI-FM Strathroy, CIMY-FM Pembroke and CHMY-FM Renfrew. The proposed station would offer a blended adult contemporary and middle of the road music format. The station would broadcast a minimum of 100 hours of local programming per broadcast week with the remaining 26 hours consisting of syndicated programs from Canada and the United States. The programming would be similar to that broadcast on MBC’s other stations. The station would broadcast approximately 14 hours of spoken word programming per broadcast week, of which five hours would be devoted to news. In addition, MBC would broadcast music and interviews with local and unsigned artists from every market it serves and with members of various First Nation communities. MBC would also broadcast programs such as Weekend House Party, Canada’s Most Wanted and my FM Hot 20, which, respectively, feature party music, Canadian musical selections and current Top 20 hits. Conditions of licence include: The licensee shall, as an exception to the percentage of Canadian musical selections set out in sections 2.2(8) and 2.2(9) of the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the Regulations), in any broadcast week: a) devote, in that broadcast week, a minimum of 38% of its musical selections from content category 2 (Popular Music) to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety; and b) devote, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., in the period from Monday to Friday of the same broadcast week, a minimum of 38% of its musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections broadcast in their entirety.

The station would operate on a frequency of 90.5 MHz with an average effective radiated power of 1,330 watts.

2009

CKXM-FM used Christmas music to test its signal.

2011

The CRTC approved the change to the ownership of My Broadcasting Corporation, for estate planning purposes, through the transfer of Andrew Dickson and Jon Pole’s voting interest in My Broadcasting (35.05% each) to their respective family trusts. The transaction did not affect the effective control of the licensee, which continued to be exercised jointly by Andrew Dickson and Jon Pole. My Broadcasting was the licensee of various radio programming undertakings in Ontario.

2013

The new General Manager/General Sales Manager at 88.7 myFM was Robin Glenny. He had been with sister station CHCD-FM Simcoe since late 2004.
