On August 26, the CRTC approved the application by Guy Simard, on behalf of a corporation to be incorporated, for a broadcasting licence to operate a French-language commercial FM radio station in Montmagny and a transmitter in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet, Quebec. The new station would operate at 90.3 MHz (channel 212B) with an average effective radiated power of 17,460 watts. The rebroadcast transmitter would operate at 92.5 MHz (channel 223B) with an average effective radiated power of 12,600 watts. The proposed station would offer an adult pop music format. During each broadcast week, 42 hours would be devoted to local programming, of which 14 hours and 19 minutes would consist of spoken word programming, 3 hours and 10 minutes of local and regional news and 3 hours and 45 minutes of national news. To complete the broadcast week, 84 hours of programming would come from CHOX-FM La Pocatière. 2011

Groupe Radio Simard put CIQI-FM on the air June 24 on a test basis. The station was delayed in getting on the air by the poor economy and because of vandalism at the transmitter site on November 29, 2010. CIQI-FM officially signed on the air September 6, at 4:40 p.m. Montmagny had been serviced by CKBM-AM until it closed in 1983 and then by CFEL-FM, from 1987 until 2009 when it moved to Lévis. The CIQI studios and offices were located at 191 Chemin des Poirier in Montmagny.

2013

On February 6, the CRTC approved the application by Radio Montmagny inc. to amend the broadcasting licence for CIQI-FM Montmagny in order to operate a new transmitter in St-Fabien-de-Panet. The new transmitter would operate at 92.5 MHz (channel 223B) with an average effective radiated power of 12,600 watts (maximum ERP of 17,500 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 123.1 meters). The Commission noted that it has already granted Radio Montmagny an authorization for a similar application, but that this authorization expired on August 26, 2012 after being twice extended. The licensee indicated that the expiry was caused by the disappointing performance of the mother station CIQI-FM, but added that it still intended to launch a new transmitter in St-Fabien-de-Panet.

2017

On September 19, the CRTC approved the application by Radio Montmagny inc. for CIQI to operate an FM rebroadcasting transmitter in Saint-Fabien-de-Panet. The new transmitter would operate at 92.5 MHz with an average ERP of 12,600 watts (maximum ERP of 17,500 watts with EHAAT of 123.1 metres). The Commission previously granted CIQI two authorizations for a similar request.
