On November 5, Telemedia Ltee, owner of CKCV-AM, received a licence for a new FM station at Quebec City. It would broadcast with an effective radiated power of 39,800 watts, on a frequency of 107.5 MHz. It would have a Middle of the Road music format, emphasizing in-depth news. There were also plans by Telemedia to develop an FM news network. Money would be set aside to broadcast cultural events, and production facilities would be made available to local musicians, free of charge. CJRP-AM (Radio Mutual) was also granted a new FM licence. Both applicants had FM applications turned down in the past.

1982

Telemedia launched CITF-FM 107.5 on July 22.

1990

CKCV-AM left the air.

1999

The corporate name changed from Telemedia Communications Inc. to Telemedia Radio Inc.

2001

The corporate name changed from Telemedia Radio Inc. to Télémédia Radio (Québec) inc.

2011

On February 23, the CRTC approved the application to amend the licence for CITF-FM by deleting this condition of licence: The licensee shall broadcast, in each broadcast week, a minimum of 63 hours of local programming and shall maintain the current level of 2 hours and 6 minutes of news and to delete the conditions of licence relating to the provision of annual reports on the diversity of musical selections.

In August, Astral Media rebranded its “Rock Detente” stations as “Rouge FM,” with little change in the Adult Contemporary sound.

2013

On June 27, 2013, after a previous such application had been denied in 2012, the CRTC approved an application by Astral Media Inc. to sell its pay and specialty television channels, conventional television stations and radio stations to BCE Inc., including CITF-FM.

2018

CITF changed format in June from Adult Contemporary to CHR but retained the Rouge 107.5 branding.
