This dramatic series took place along the St. Lawrence Seaway and was filmed on location in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, with studio shoots in Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.
It was the story of Admiral Leslie Fox and his agent, Nick King. The two enforced the law aboard freighters that sailed along the St. Lawrence. But the co-production was aiming for a wider audience by telling stories with a more dramatic angle than the usual adventure series which were popular on the CBC. Maxine Samuels was the creator of the show and she had a big budget: $100,000 per episode. At the time, this was the most costly television series in Canadian history. That said, the show did reasonably well in syndication to the United States, United Kingdom and Finland. In fact, one of the two-part episodes was re-packaged as a movie of the week: Don’t Forget To Wipe The Blood Off.
