Summer of ’75/’76/’77

Network: CBC Television Network

Broadcast Run: 1975 to 1977

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired daily at noon, during three consecutive summers. 1975 to 1977.
This hour long show replaced Elwood Glover’s Luncheon Date in 1975, and the Bob McLean show in 1976 and 1977.
The first summer offered viewers a series about women, in honour of International Women’s Year. Jayne Eastwood, Lucille Toth, Joan Sutton, Bobbi Sherron and Merle Shain each hosted the show for one week. Sandra Johnson was the producer; the director was Lynn Crawley and the production team was mostly women.
In 1976, Jayne Eastwood returned to host with appearances by Marilyn Peppiatt as guest host.
The presentation changed in 1977 with half of the shows being produced in Toronto with hosts Valerie Elia and Guido Basso and the other half produced in Vancouver with Fred Latremouille. The latter program was shot on location in Vancouver, at venues such as Stanley Park and the Pacific National Exhibition.
