Broadcast Run: 1979 to 1982

Broadcast Medium: Television

Aired Thursday nights from October 1980 to March, 1982. Repeated during
the summer of 1981.

This half hour comedy program was created by Gordon Pinsent. It was
about the life and times of the people in a boarding house in St.
John’s, Newfoundland. The show debuted in 1979.
All of the characters had their own quirks, often
getting into trouble for doing or saying the wrong thing at the wrong
time. But the show did have a serious side;  for instance, Pinsent
appeared as a priest whose faith was tested when he met two young
women, one a runaway and the other a boarder at the house.

The series was produced in St. John’s by Kevin O’Connell, with episodes
directed by Walter Learning, Wayne Guzzwell, and O’Connell, and scripts
by writers from the Atlantic provinces: Pinsent, Learning, Gerry Rubia,
Michael Cook, and Alden Nowlan.
